Musical Life Skills is a fun, engaging and inspirational assembly program. In his 45 minute presentation, Arthur Lee Land masterfully engages students with his musical expertise and enthusiasm for life. Through dynamic performances, demonstrations and audience participation, students learn that melody, harmony and rhythm not only make great music, but are also key elements that make great life skills. Combining the manifold flavors of West African percussion, funky electric bass, soulful vocals and masterful guitar leads, Arthur Lee Land’s unusual one-man "Afrograss" Folk Rock Ensemble seamlessly utilizes "loop" (live recording) technology to create a soundscape that fills the stage – and unleashes the audience’s imagination. As a responsible, successful and highly creative adult with A.D.H.D., Arthur also offers special insight, inspiration and appreciation for students with A.D.D. by bringing attention to positive role models and by presenting fresh views on the strengths of this population.

Teacher Quotes

"I've seen Arthur work with high school and elementary students and recommend him for
any age group"
Lisa Boston , Art Instructor, Birch Elementary School, Broomfield CO

“Arthur not only evoked a healthy interest in music, but he impressed both the children and me with how he used technology to augment his solo renderings. When he involved the students he won the crowd. His performance/sharing was engaging and educational for my ten and eleven year olds…..inspirational.”
Matthew Morrison, 5th Grade Teacher, Birch Elementary School, Broomfield CO.

“…Perfect to grab the attention of our seventh grade audience.”
Margaret Ekstrum, 7th Grade Teacher, Sandburg Elementary School , Anoka , MN
