Musical Life Skills is a highly interactive, innovative and inspirational K-12 character education assembly program, presented by versatile musician and educator Arthur Lee Land. Arthur makes character education cool for kids, effectively imparting positive messages to students of all ages through his own original craft, The Art of Live-Looping.*
Via demonstration, Arthur's heart-to-heart spoken presentation, and audience participation, students learn that listening and creating harmony are not only foundational to making great music, but also are essential life skills.
A key element of Musical Life Skills involves students coming onstage to co-create an original song on the spot by recording sounds from a variety of instruments, voice, and diverse classroom "found objects" not typically used to make music.
The Art of Live-Looping is a 21st century live-performance art form where the sounds of instruments and everyday classroom objects are recorded, layered and mixed in continuously repeating loops. The result is an on-the-spot musical track that Arthur Lee Land and the students have created together.
